Humming Helps Sinus Health
A study from the Karolinska Institute of Stockholm, Sweden has found that humming keeps sinuses healthy and reducing the chances of developing sinusitis.
Humming increases airflow through the nasal passages and sinus cavity, improving ventilation and reducing the risk of developing secondary infections. Humming is shown to increase levels of nitric oxide in the nasal passages, in which healthy sinuses are shown to have high levels of nitric oxide. Humming was found to increase nitric oxide levels by 15 time by regular exhalation.
It has also been hypothesized that humming and increasing nitric oxide levels in the nasal passageways may show physicians who may or may not be susceptible to developing sinusitis or other respiratory infections.
