Corrective surgery, medicinal regimens, and special braces have made living with chronic joint pain not just bearable, but relatively pain-free.

Here you will be able to research specific areas of joint pain and their treatment options, as well as pain causes, products that may assist in relieving pain, and certain exercises and stretches that may alleviate the current conditions that are leading to the pain.

Does Pain Cause Arthritis?

The University of Rochester has done research that suggests that pain may be what makes arthritis continue to manifest in patients.

According to tests conducted on mice, researchers found that the pain signals from arthritic areas causes a chemical signal response that inflames the arthritic area. As a result, that pain signal travels back from the spine to the joint, causing further inflammation.

When that signal is interrupted, inflammation is suspended.

Researches used a form of gene therapy to block the messages which cause the inflammation, during which the mice no longer exhibited behavior common with pain.
